Throughout your generations he shall make atonement on it annually with the blood of the sin offering of atonement. The altar is most holy to the LORD.”

11En die HERE het met Moses gepraat en gesê:וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃Then the LORD said to Moses, 12“Wanneer jy die getal van die Israeliete opneem volgens hulle geteldes, moet elkeen ’n losprys vir sy lewe aan die HERE gee wanneer hulle getel word, sodat daar geen plaag onder hulle kom wanneer hulle getel word nie.

כִּ֣י תִשָּׂ֞א אֶת־רֹ֥אשׁ בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֘ל לִפְקֻדֵיהֶם֒ וְנָ֨תְנ֜וּ אִ֣ישׁ כֹּ֧פֶר נַפְשׁ֛וֹ לַיהוָ֖ה בִּפְקֹ֣ד אֹתָ֑ם וְלֹא־יִהְיֶ֥ה בָהֶ֛ם נֶ֖גֶף בִּפְקֹ֥ד אֹתָֽם׃“When you take a census of the Israelites to number them, each man must pay the LORD a ransom for his life when he is counted. Then no plague will come upon them when they are numbered. 13Dit moet elkeen gee wat by die geteldes oorgaan: ’n halwe sikkel volgens die sikkel van die heiligdom; die sikkel is 20 gera. ’n Halwe sikkel is ’n offergawe aan die HERE.

זֶ֣ה׀ יִתְּנ֗וּ כָּל־הָעֹבֵר֙ עַל־הַפְּקֻדִ֔ים מַחֲצִ֥ית הַשֶּׁ֖קֶל בְּשֶׁ֣קֶל הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ עֶשְׂרִ֤ים גֵּרָה֙ הַשֶּׁ֔קֶל מַחֲצִ֣ית הַשֶּׁ֔קֶל תְּרוּמָ֖ה לַֽיהוָֽה׃Everyone who crosses over to those counted must pay a half shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the LORD. 14Elkeen wat by die geteldes oorgaan, van 20 jaar oud en daarbo, moet die offergawe van die HERE gee.כֹּ֗ל הָעֹבֵר֙ עַל־הַפְּקֻדִ֔ים מִבֶּ֛ן עֶשְׂרִ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה וָמָ֑עְלָה יִתֵּ֖ן תְּרוּמַ֥ת יְהוָֽה׃Everyone twenty years of age or older who crosses over must give this offering to the LORD. 15Die ryke mag nie meer gee nie, en die arme mag nie minder gee nie as die halwe sikkel, om die offergawe vir die HERE te gee, om versoening te doen vir julle lewens.הֶֽעָשִׁ֣יר לֹֽא־יַרְבֶּ֗ה וְהַדַּל֙ לֹ֣א יַמְעִ֔יט מִֽמַּחֲצִ֖ית הַשָּׁ֑קֶל לָתֵת֙ אֶת־תְּרוּמַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה לְכַפֵּ֖ר עַל־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶֽם׃In making the offering to the LORD to atone for your lives, the rich shall not give more than a half shekel, nor shall the poor give less. 16En jy moet die silwer van die versoening by die Israeliete neem en dit gee vir die diens van die tent van samekoms; en dit sal vir die Israeliete 'n herinnering wees voor die aangesig van die HERE, om versoening te doen vir julle lewens.”וְלָקַחְתָּ֞ אֶת־כֶּ֣סֶף הַכִּפֻּרִ֗ים מֵאֵת֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְנָתַתָּ֣ אֹת֔וֹ עַל־עֲבֹדַ֖ת אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְהָיָה֩ לִבְנֵ֨י יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל לְזִכָּרוֹן֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה לְכַפֵּ֖ר עַל־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶֽם׃ פTake the atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the Tent of Meeting. It will serve as a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD to make atonement for your lives.”

17En die HERE het met Moses gepraat en gesê:וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃And the LORD said to Moses, 18“En jy moet ’n waskom van koper maak, met sy voetstuk van koper, om te was; en jy moet dit tussen die tent van samekoms en die altaar sit en water daarin sit.וְעָשִׂ֜יתָ כִּיּ֥וֹר נְחֹ֛שֶׁת וְכַנּ֥וֹ נְחֹ֖שֶׁת לְרָחְצָ֑ה וְנָתַתָּ֣ אֹת֗וֹ בֵּֽין־אֹ֤הֶל מוֹעֵד֙ וּבֵ֣ין הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ וְנָתַתָּ֥ שָׁ֖מָּה מָֽיִם׃“You are to make a bronze basin with a bronze stand for washing. Set it between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water in it, 19En Aäron en sy seuns moet daaruit hulle hande en hulle voete was.וְרָחֲצ֛וּ אַהֲרֹ֥ן וּבָנָ֖יו מִמֶּ֑נּוּ אֶת־יְדֵיהֶ֖ם וְאֶת־רַגְלֵיהֶֽם׃with which Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet. 20As hulle in die tent van samekoms ingaan, moet hulle hulle met water was, en hulle sal nie sterf nie; of as hulle by die altaar nader kom om te dien, om 'n vuuroffer vir die HERE te laat rook.בְּבֹאָ֞ם אֶל־אֹ֧הֶל מוֹעֵ֛ד יִרְחֲצוּ־מַ֖יִם וְלֹ֣א יָמֻ֑תוּ א֣וֹ בְגִשְׁתָּ֤ם אֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֨חַ֙ לְשָׁרֵ֔ת לְהַקְטִ֥יר אִשֶּׁ֖ה לַֽיהוָֽה׃Whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting or approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the LORD, they must wash with water so that they will not die. 21Hulle moet hulle hande en hulle voete was, en hulle sal nie sterf nie; en dit moet vir hulle 'n ewige insetting wees, vir hom en vir sy nageslag, deur hulle geslagte.”וְרָחֲצ֛וּ יְדֵיהֶ֥ם וְרַגְלֵיהֶ֖ם וְלֹ֣א יָמֻ֑תוּ וְהָיְתָ֨ה לָהֶ֧ם חָק־עוֹלָ֛ם ל֥וֹ וּלְזַרְע֖וֹ לְדֹרֹתָֽם׃ פThus they are to wash their hands and feet so that they will not die; this shall be a permanent statute for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.”

22En die HERE het met Moses gepraat en gesê:וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃Then the LORD said to Moses, 23“En jy, neem vir jou die beste speserye: vloeibare mirre, 500; geurige kaneel, die helfte daarvan, 250; en geurige kalmoes, 250;

וְאַתָּ֣ה קַח־לְךָ֮ בְּשָׂמִ֣ים רֹאשׁ֒ מָר־דְּרוֹר֙ חֲמֵ֣שׁ מֵא֔וֹת וְקִנְּמָן־בֶּ֥שֶׂם מַחֲצִית֖וֹ חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים וּמָאתָ֑יִם וּקְנֵה־בֹ֖שֶׂם חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וּמָאתָֽיִם׃“Take the finest spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half that amount (250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant cane, 24en kassia 500, volgens die sikkel van die heiligdom, en olyfolie 'n hin.

וְקִדָּ֕ה חֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת בְּשֶׁ֣קֶל הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ וְשֶׁ֥מֶן זַ֖יִת הִֽין׃500 shekels of cassia —all according to the sanctuary shekel—and a hin of olive oil. 25En jy moet dit maak tot 'n heilige salfolie, 'n mengsel van geurmiddels, werk van 'n geurmenger; 'n heilige salfolie moet dit wees.וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ אֹת֗וֹ שֶׁ֚מֶן מִשְׁחַת־קֹ֔דֶשׁ רֹ֥קַח מִרְקַ֖חַת מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה רֹקֵ֑חַ שֶׁ֥מֶן מִשְׁחַת־קֹ֖דֶשׁ יִהְיֶֽה׃Prepare from these a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer; it will be a sacred anointing oil. 26En jy moet daarmee die tent van samekoms salf, en die ark van die getuienis,וּמָשַׁחְתָּ֥ ב֖וֹ אֶת־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְאֵ֖ת אֲר֥וֹן הָעֵדֻֽת׃Use this oil to anoint the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the Testimony, 27en die tafel en al sy gerei, en die kandelaar en sy gerei, en die altaar van die wierook,וְאֶת־הַשֻּׁלְחָן֙ וְאֶת־כָּל־כֵּלָ֔יו וְאֶת־הַמְּנֹרָ֖ה וְאֶת־כֵּלֶ֑יהָ וְאֵ֖ת מִזְבַּ֥ח הַקְּטֹֽרֶת׃the table and all its utensils, the lampstand and its utensils, the altar of incense, 28en die altaar van die brandoffer en al sy gerei, en die wasbak en sy onderstel.וְאֶת־מִזְבַּ֥ח הָעֹלָ֖ה וְאֶת־כָּל־כֵּלָ֑יו וְאֶת־הַכִּיֹּ֖ר וְאֶת־כַּנּֽוֹ׃the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand. 29En jy moet hulle heilig maak, en hulle sal allerheilig wees; alles wat hulle aanraak, sal heilig wees.

וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֣ אֹתָ֔ם וְהָי֖וּ קֹ֣דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁ֑ים כָּל־הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בָּהֶ֖ם יִקְדָּֽשׁ׃You are to consecrate them so that they will be most holy. Whatever touches them shall be holy. 30En Aäron en sy seuns moet jy salf en hulle heilig om My as priesters te dien.וְאֶת־אַהֲרֹ֥ן וְאֶת־בָּנָ֖יו תִּמְשָׁ֑ח וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֥ אֹתָ֖ם לְכַהֵ֥ן לִֽי׃Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them to serve Me as priests. 31En met die Israeliete moet jy praat en sê: ‘Dit moet vir My ’n heilige salfolie wees deur julle geslagte.וְאֶל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל תְּדַבֵּ֣ר לֵאמֹ֑ר שֶׁ֠מֶן מִשְׁחַת־קֹ֨דֶשׁ יִהְיֶ֥ה זֶ֛ה לִ֖י לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶֽם׃And you are to tell the Israelites, ‘This will be My sacred anointing oil for the generations to come. 32Op die liggaam van ’n mens mag dit nie uitgegiet word nie, en volgens sy samestelling mag julle nie iets soos dit maak nie; heilig is dit, heilig moet dit vir julle wees.עַל־בְּשַׂ֤ר אָדָם֙ לֹ֣א יִיסָ֔ךְ וּבְמַ֨תְכֻּנְתּ֔וֹ לֹ֥א תַעֲשׂ֖וּ כָּמֹ֑הוּ קֹ֣דֶשׁ ה֔וּא קֹ֖דֶשׁ יִהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶֽם׃It must not be used to anoint an ordinary man, and you must not make anything like it with the same formula. It is holy, and it must be holy to you. 33Elkeen wat soos dit 'n mengsel maak, en elkeen wat daarvan op 'n vreemde gee, moet van sy volk afgesny word.’”

34En die HERE het vir Moses gesê: “Neem vir jou speserye: druiphars en sechelet en chelbena, speserye en suiwer wierook; gelyke dele van elk moet dit wees.

וְעָשִׂ֤יתָ אֹתָהּ֙ קְטֹ֔רֶת רֹ֖קַח מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה רוֹקֵ֑חַ מְמֻלָּ֖ח טָה֥וֹר קֹֽדֶשׁ׃and make a fragrant blend of incense, the work of a perfumer, seasoned with salt, pure and holy. 36En jy moet 'n deel daarvan fyn stamp, en 'n deel daarvan voor die getuienis in die tent van samekoms plaas, waar Ek met jou sal saamkom; allerheilig moet dit vir julle wees.וְשָֽׁחַקְתָּ֣ מִמֶּנָּה֮ הָדֵק֒ וְנָתַתָּ֨ה מִמֶּ֜נָּה לִפְנֵ֤י הָעֵדֻת֙ בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד אֲשֶׁ֛ר אִוָּעֵ֥ד לְךָ֖ שָׁ֑מָּה קֹ֥דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁ֖ים תִּהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶֽם׃Grind some of it into fine powder and place it in front of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you. 37En die reukwerk wat jy maak, volgens sy samestelling mag julle dit nie vir julleself maak nie; heilig moet dit vir jou wees, vir die HERE.וְהַקְּטֹ֨רֶת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תַּעֲשֶׂ֔ה בְּמַ֨תְכֻּנְתָּ֔הּ לֹ֥א תַעֲשׂ֖וּ לָכֶ֑ם קֹ֛דֶשׁ תִּהְיֶ֥ה לְךָ֖ לַיהוָֽה׃You are never to use this formula to make incense for yourselves; you shall regard it as holy to the LORD. 38Iemand wat iets soos dit maak om daaraan te ruik, moet uit sy volk afgesny word.”
