1Hierna het die Here ook 72 ander aangestel en hulle twee-twee voor Hom uit gestuur na elke stad en plek waarheen Hy self op die punt was om te kom.aSommige manuskripte lees: sewentig.Μετὰ δὲ ταῦτα ἀνέδειξεν ὁ κύριος ⸀καὶ ἑτέρους ἑβδομήκοντα ⸀δύο καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς ἀνὰ δύο ⸁δύο πρὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ εἰς πᾶσαν πόλιν καὶ τόπον οὗ ἤμελλεν αὐτὸς ἔρχεσθαι.After this, the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of Him to every town and place He was about to visit.2En Hy het vir hulle gesê: “Die oes is wel groot, maar die werkers is min; smeek dan die Here van die oes dat Hy werkers in Sy oes uitstuur.aLetterlik: uitwerp.ἔλεγεν ⸀δὲ πρὸς αὐτούς· Ὁ μὲν θερισμὸς πολύς, οἱ δὲ ἐργάται ὀλίγοι· δεήθητε οὖν τοῦ κυρίου τοῦ θερισμοῦ ὅπως ⸂ἐργάτας ἐκβάλῃ⸃ εἰς τὸν θερισμὸν αὐτοῦ.And He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.3Gaan! Kyk, Ek stuur julle soos lammers tussen wolwe in.ὑπάγετε· ⸀ἰδοὺ ἀποστέλλω ὑμᾶς ὡς ἄρνας ἐν μέσῳ λύκων.Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.4Moenie 'n beursie dra nie, nie 'n reissak nie, nie sandale nie, en moenie iemand langs die pad groet nie.μὴ βαστάζετε βαλλάντιον, μὴ πήραν, ⸀μὴ ὑποδήματα, καὶ μηδένα κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν ἀσπάσησθε.Carry no purse or bag or sandals. Do not greet anyone along the road.5En in watter huis julle ook al ingaan, sê eers: ‘Vrede vir hierdie huis.’εἰς ἣν δʼ ἂν ⸂εἰσέλθητε οἰκίαν⸃ πρῶτον λέγετε· Εἰρήνη τῷ οἴκῳ τούτῳ.Whatever house you enter, begin by saying, ‘Peace to this house.’6En as daar 'n seun van vrede is, sal julle vrede op hom rus; maar indien nie, sal dit na julle terugkeer.καὶ ἐὰν ⸂ᾖ ἐκεῖ⸃ υἱὸς εἰρήνης, ἐπαναπαήσεται ἐπʼ αὐτὸν ἡ εἰρήνη ὑμῶν· εἰ δὲ μήγε, ἐφʼ ὑμᾶς ἀνακάμψει.If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you.7Bly in dieselfde huis, en eet en drink wat by hulle is, want die werker is sy loon werd. Moenie van huis na huis trek nie.ἐν αὐτῇ δὲ τῇ οἰκίᾳ μένετε, ἐσθίοντες καὶ πίνοντες τὰ παρʼ αὐτῶν, ἄξιος γὰρ ὁ ἐργάτης τοῦ μισθοῦ ⸀αὐτοῦ. μὴ μεταβαίνετε ἐξ οἰκίας εἰς οἰκίαν.Stay at the same house, eating and drinking whatever you are offered. For the worker is worthy of his wages. Do not move around from house to house.8En in watter stad julle ook al ingaan en hulle julle ontvang, eet wat vir julle voorgesit word,καὶ εἰς ἣν ἂν πόλιν εἰσέρχησθε καὶ δέχωνται ὑμᾶς, ἐσθίετε τὰ παρατιθέμενα ὑμῖν,If you enter a town and they welcome you, eat whatever is set before you.9en genees die siekes daarin, en sê vir hulle: ‘Die koninkryk van God het naby julle gekom.’καὶ θεραπεύετε τοὺς ἐν αὐτῇ ἀσθενεῖς, καὶ λέγετε αὐτοῖς· Ἤγγικεν ἐφʼ ὑμᾶς ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ.Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’10Maar in watter stad julle ook al ingaan en hulle julle nie ontvang nie, gaan uit op die strate daarvan en sê:εἰς ἣν δʼ ἂν πόλιν ⸀εἰσέλθητε καὶ μὴ δέχωνται ὑμᾶς, ἐξελθόντες εἰς τὰς πλατείας αὐτῆς εἴπατε·But if you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go into the streets and declare,11‘Selfs die stof van julle stad wat aan ons voete vasgekleef het, vee ons teen julle af; maar weet dit: die koninkryk van God het naby gekom.’aSommige manuskripte lees: die koninkryk van God het naby julle gekom.Καὶ τὸν κονιορτὸν τὸν κολληθέντα ἡμῖν ἐκ τῆς πόλεως ὑμῶν ⸂εἰς τοὺς πόδας⸃ ἀπομασσόμεθα ὑμῖν· πλὴν τοῦτο γινώσκετε ὅτι ⸀ἤγγικεν ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ.‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off as a testimony against you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God is near.’12Ek sê vir julle dat dit vir Sodom op daardie dag draagliker sal wees as vir daardie stad.λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι Σοδόμοις ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἀνεκτότερον ἔσται ἢ τῇ πόλει ἐκείνῃ.I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.13Wee jou, Gorasin! Wee jou, Betsaida! Want as die wonderwerke wat onder julle gebeur het, in Tirus en Sidon gebeur het, sou hulle lankal in sakdoek en as gesit en hulle bekeer het.Οὐαί σοι, Χοραζίν· οὐαί σοι, Βηθσαϊδά· ὅτι εἰ ἐν Τύρῳ καὶ Σιδῶνι ⸀ἐγενήθησαν αἱ δυνάμεις αἱ γενόμεναι ἐν ὑμῖν, πάλαι ἂν ἐν σάκκῳ καὶ σποδῷ ⸀καθήμενοι μετενόησαν.Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.14Maar vir Tirus en Sidon sal dit draagliker wees in die oordeel as vir julle.πλὴν Τύρῳ καὶ Σιδῶνι ἀνεκτότερον ἔσται ἐν τῇ κρίσει ἢ ὑμῖν.But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.15En jy, Kapernaum, jy sal tog nie tot die hemel toe verhoog word nie? Tot in die doderyk sal jy neergebring word.aSommige manuskripte lees: En jy, Kapernaum, wat tot die hemel toe verhoog is, sal tot in die doderyk neergebring word.καὶ σύ, Καφαρναούμ, ⸂μὴ ἕως οὐρανοῦ ὑψωθήσῃ⸃; ἕως ⸀τοῦ ᾅδου ⸀καταβιβασθήσῃ.And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades!16Wie na julle luister, luister na My; en wie julle verwerp, verwerp My; en wie My verwerp, verwerp Hom wat My gestuur het.”Ὁ ἀκούων ὑμῶν ἐμοῦ ἀκούει, καὶ ὁ ἀθετῶν ὑμᾶς ἐμὲ ἀθετεῖ· ὁ δὲ ἐμὲ ἀθετῶν ἀθετεῖ τὸν ἀποστείλαντά με.Whoever listens to you listens to Me; whoever rejects you rejects Me; and whoever rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.”
17Die 72 het toe met vreugde teruggekeer en gesê: “Here, ook die demone is aan ons onderwerp in U naam.”aSommige manuskripte lees: sewentig.Ὑπέστρεψαν δὲ οἱ ἑβδομήκοντα ⸀δύο μετὰ χαρᾶς λέγοντες· Κύριε, καὶ τὰ δαιμόνια ὑποτάσσεται ἡμῖν ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί σου.The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in Your name.”18En Hy het vir hulle gesê: “Ek het Satan soos weerlig uit die hemel sien val.εἶπεν δὲ αὐτοῖς· Ἐθεώρουν τὸν Σατανᾶν ὡς ἀστραπὴν ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ πεσόντα.So He told them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.19Kyk, Ek het aan julle die gesag gegee om op slange en skorpioene te trap, en oor al die krag van die vyand, en niks sal julle ooit skade berokken nie.ἰδοὺ ⸀δέδωκα ὑμῖν τὴν ἐξουσίαν τοῦ πατεῖν ἐπάνω ὄφεων καὶ σκορπίων, καὶ ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν δύναμιν τοῦ ἐχθροῦ, καὶ οὐδὲν ὑμᾶς οὐ μὴ ⸀ἀδικήσῃ.Behold, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you.20Maar moenie hieroor bly wees dat die geeste aan julle onderwerp is nie, maar wees bly dat julle name in die hemele opgeskryf is.”πλὴν ἐν τούτῳ μὴ χαίρετε ὅτι τὰ πνεύματα ὑμῖν ὑποτάσσεται, χαίρετε δὲ ὅτι τὰ ὀνόματα ὑμῶν ⸀ἐγγέγραπται ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
21In dieselfde uur het Hy Hom verheug in die Heilige Gees en gesê: “Ek loof U, Vader, Here van die hemel en die aarde, dat U hierdie dinge vir wyses en verstandiges verberg het en dit aan kindertjies geopenbaar het; ja, Vader, want so het dit voor U 'n welbehae geword.aSommige manuskripte lees: Jesus het Hom in die Gees verheug en gesê.Ἐν αὐτῇ τῇ ὥρᾳ ἠγαλλιάσατο ⸀τῷ πνεύματι ⸂τῷ ἁγίῳ⸃ καὶ εἶπεν· Ἐξομολογοῦμαί σοι, πάτερ κύριε τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τῆς γῆς, ὅτι ἀπέκρυψας ταῦτα ἀπὸ σοφῶν καὶ συνετῶν, καὶ ἀπεκάλυψας αὐτὰ νηπίοις· ναί, ὁ πατήρ, ὅτι οὕτως ⸂εὐδοκία ἐγένετο⸃ ἔμπροσθέν σου.At that time Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in Your sight.22Alles is aan My oorgegee deur My Vader, en niemand weet wie die Seun is nie, behalwe die Vader, en wie die Vader is nie, behalwe die Seun en elkeen aan wie die Seun dit wil openbaar.”aSommige manuskripte lees: En Hy het Hom na die dissipels gedraai en gesê: Alles is aan My oorgegee.⸀πάντα μοι παρεδόθη ὑπὸ τοῦ πατρός μου, καὶ οὐδεὶς γινώσκει τίς ἐστιν ὁ υἱὸς εἰ μὴ ὁ πατήρ, καὶ τίς ἐστιν ὁ πατὴρ εἰ μὴ ὁ υἱὸς καὶ ᾧ ⸀ἐὰν βούληται ὁ υἱὸς ἀποκαλύψαι.All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.”
23En Hy het Hom na die dissipels gedraai en afsonderlik gesê: “Gelukkig is die oë wat sien wat julle sien.Καὶ στραφεὶς πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς κατʼ ἰδίαν εἶπεν· Μακάριοι οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ οἱ βλέποντες ἃ βλέπετε.Then Jesus turned to the disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.24Want Ek sê vir julle dat baie profete en konings wou sien wat julle sien, en dit nie gesien het nie, en wou hoor wat julle hoor, en dit nie gehoor het nie.”λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι πολλοὶ προφῆται καὶ βασιλεῖς ἠθέλησαν ἰδεῖν ἃ ὑμεῖς βλέπετε καὶ οὐκ εἶδαν, καὶ ἀκοῦσαι ἃ ἀκούετε καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσαν.For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”
25En kyk, 'n sekere wetgeleerde het opgestaan om Hom op die proef te stel en gesê: “Meester, wat moet ek doen om die ewige lewe te beërf?”Καὶ ἰδοὺ νομικός τις ἀνέστη ἐκπειράζων ⸀αὐτὸν λέγων· Διδάσκαλε, τί ποιήσας ζωὴν αἰώνιον κληρονομήσω;One day an expert in the law stood up to test Him. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”26En Hy het vir hom gesê: “Wat staan in die wet geskryf? Hoe lees jy?”ὁ δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν· Ἐν τῷ νόμῳ τί γέγραπται; πῶς ἀναγινώσκεις;“What is written in the Law?” Jesus replied. “How do you read it?”27Hy het geantwoord en gesê: “Jy sal die Here jou God liefhê uit jou hele hart en met jou hele siel en met jou hele krag en met jou hele verstand, en jou naaste soos jouself.”aAanhaling uit Deuteronomium 6:5 en Levitikus 19:18.ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν· Ἀγαπήσεις κύριον τὸν θεόν σου ἐξ ὅλης ⸀τῆς καρδίας σου καὶ ⸂ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ ψυχῇ⸃ σου καὶ ⸂ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ ἰσχύϊ⸃ σου καὶ ⸂ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ διανοίᾳ⸃ σου, καὶ τὸν πλησίον σου ὡς σεαυτόν.He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”28En Hy het vir hom gesê: “Jy het reg geantwoord. Doen dit en jy sal lewe.”εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ· Ὀρθῶς ἀπεκρίθης· τοῦτο ποίει καὶ ζήσῃ.“You have answered correctly,” Jesus said. “Do this and you will live.”29Maar hy wou homself regverdig en het vir Jesus gesê: “En wie is my naaste?”Ὁ δὲ θέλων ⸀δικαιῶσαι ἑαυτὸν εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν· Καὶ τίς ἐστίν μου πλησίον;But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
Jesus took up this question and said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead.31Toevallig het 'n sekere priester op daardie pad afgegaan, en toe hy hom sien, het hy aan die ander kant verbygegaan;κατὰ συγκυρίαν δὲ ἱερεύς τις κατέβαινεν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ ἐκείνῃ, καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὸν ἀντιπαρῆλθεν·Now by chance a priest was going down the same road, but when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.32En net so het ook 'n Leviet by die plek gekom, en toe hy hom sien, aan die oorkant verbygegaan.ὁμοίως δὲ καὶ ⸀Λευίτης κατὰ τὸν τόπον ἐλθὼν καὶ ἰδὼν ἀντιπαρῆλθεν.So too, when a Levite came to that spot and saw him, he passed by on the other side.33Maar 'n sekere Samaritaan wat op reis was, het by hom gekom, en toe hy hom sien, was hy met deernis bewoë,Σαμαρίτης δέ τις ὁδεύων ἦλθεν κατʼ αὐτὸν καὶ ⸀ἰδὼν ἐσπλαγχνίσθη,But a Samaritan on a journey came upon him, and when he saw him, he had compassion.34en hy het nader gegaan en sy wonde verbind en olie en wyn daarop gegooi; en hy het hom op sy eie rydier gesit en hom na 'n herberg gebring en hom versorg.καὶ προσελθὼν κατέδησεν τὰ τραύματα αὐτοῦ ἐπιχέων ἔλαιον καὶ οἶνον, ἐπιβιβάσας δὲ αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸ ἴδιον κτῆνος ἤγαγεν αὐτὸν εἰς πανδοχεῖον καὶ ἐπεμελήθη αὐτοῦ.He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.35En die volgende dag het hy twee denarii uitgehaal en vir die herbergier gegee en gesê: ‘Sorg vir hom, en wat jy ook al meer mag bestee, sal ek jou terugbetaal wanneer ek terugkom.’aOngeveer twee dae se loon.καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν ⸀αὔριον ἐκβαλὼν ⸂δύο δηνάρια ἔδωκεν⸃ τῷ πανδοχεῖ καὶ ⸀εἶπεν· Ἐπιμελήθητι αὐτοῦ, καὶ ὅ τι ἂν προσδαπανήσῃς ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ ἐπανέρχεσθαί με ἀποδώσω σοι.The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Take care of him,’ he said, ‘and on my return I will repay you for any additional expense.’36Wie van hierdie drie, dink jy, het 'n naaste geword vir hom wat onder die rowers beland het?”⸀τίς τούτων τῶν τριῶν πλησίον δοκεῖ σοι γεγονέναι τοῦ ἐμπεσόντος εἰς τοὺς λῃστάς;Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”37En hy het gesê: “Die een wat barmhartigheid aan hom bewys het.” Toe sê Jesus vir hom: “Gaan en doen jy net so.”ὁ δὲ εἶπεν· Ὁ ποιήσας τὸ ἔλεος μετʼ αὐτοῦ. εἶπεν ⸀δὲ αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Πορεύου καὶ σὺ ποίει ὁμοίως.“The one who showed him mercy,” replied the expert in the law. Then Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
38Terwyl hulle op reis was, het Hy in 'n sekere dorp ingegaan; en 'n sekere vrou met die naam Marta het Hom ontvang.aSommige manuskripte lees: het Hom in haar huis ontvang.⸂Ἐν δὲ⸃ τῷ πορεύεσθαι ⸀αὐτοὺς αὐτὸς εἰσῆλθεν εἰς κώμην τινά· γυνὴ δέ τις ὀνόματι Μάρθα ὑπεδέξατο ⸀αὐτὸν.As they traveled along, Jesus entered a village where a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home.39En sy het 'n suster gehad wat Maria genoem is, wat ook aan die voete van Jesus gaan sit het en na Sy woord geluister het.καὶ τῇδε ἦν ἀδελφὴ καλουμένη ⸀Μαριάμ, ἣ καὶ ⸂παρακαθεσθεῖσα πρὸς⸃ τοὺς πόδας τοῦ ⸀Ἰησοῦ ἤκουεν τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ.She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to His message.40Maar Marta was deur baie diens in beslag geneem; en sy het bygekom en gesê: “Here, gee U nie om dat my suster my alleen gelaat het om te dien nie? Sê dan vir haar dat sy my moet help.”ἡ δὲ Μάρθα περιεσπᾶτο περὶ πολλὴν διακονίαν· ἐπιστᾶσα δὲ εἶπεν· Κύριε, οὐ μέλει σοι ὅτι ἡ ἀδελφή μου μόνην με ⸀κατέλειπεν διακονεῖν; ⸀εἰπὲ οὖν αὐτῇ ἵνα μοι συναντιλάβηται.But Martha was distracted by all the preparations to be made. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me!”41Die Here het geantwoord en vir haar gesê: “Marta, Marta, jy is bekommerd en versteur oor baie dinge,aSommige manuskripte lees: Jesus.ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῇ ὁ ⸀κύριος· Μάρθα Μάρθα, μεριμνᾷς καὶ ⸀θορυβάζῃ περὶ πολλά,“Martha, Martha,” the Lord replied, “you are worried and upset about many things.42maar min dinge is nodig, of een; want Maria het die goeie deel gekies wat nie van haar weggeneem sal word nie.”aSommige manuskripte lees: Een ding is nodig.⸂ὀλίγων δέ ἐστιν χρεία ἢ ἑνός⸃· ⸂Μαριὰμ γὰρ⸃ τὴν ἀγαθὴν μερίδα ἐξελέξατο ἥτις οὐκ ἀφαιρεθήσεται ⸀αὐτῆς.But only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, and it will not be taken away from her.”
