1En die HERE het met Moses gespreek op die berg Sinai en gesê:וַיְדַבֵּ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה בְּהַ֥ר סִינַ֖י לֵאמֹֽר׃Then the LORD said to Moses on Mount Sinai,2“Spreek met die Israeliete en sê vir hulle: Wanneer julle in die land kom wat Ek aan julle gee, moet die land rus, 'n sabbat vir die HERE.דַּבֵּ֞ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶ֔ם כִּ֤י תָבֹ֨אוּ֙ אֶל־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲנִ֖י נֹתֵ֣ן לָכֶ֑ם וְשָׁבְתָ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ שַׁבָּ֖ת לַיהוָֽה׃“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: When you enter the land that I am giving you, the land itself must observe a Sabbath to the LORD.3Ses jaar lank mag jy jou veld saai, en ses jaar lank mag jy jou wingerd snoei en die opbrengs daarvan insamel. For six years you may sow your field and prune your vineyard and gather its crops.4Maar in die sewende jaar moet daar vir die land 'n sabbat van volkome rus wees, 'n sabbat vir die HERE. But in the seventh year there shall be a Sabbath of complete rest for the land—a Sabbath to the LORD. You are not to sow your field or prune your vineyard.5Die opslag van jou oes mag jy nie oes nie, en die druiwe van jou ongesnoeide wingerdstokke mag jy nie pluk nie; dit moet 'n jaar van volkome rus vir die land wees.aLetterlik: die druiwe van jou afgesonderdes. You are not to reap the aftergrowth of your harvest or gather the grapes of your untended vines. The land must have a year of complete rest.6En die sabbat van die land sal vir julle tot voedsel wees: vir jou en vir jou slaaf en jou slavin, en vir jou dagloner en jou bywoner wat as vreemdelinge by jou woon,וְ֠הָיְתָה שַׁבַּ֨ת הָאָ֤רֶץ לָכֶם֙ לְאָכְלָ֔ה לְךָ֖ וּלְעַבְדְּךָ֣ וְלַאֲמָתֶ֑ךָ וְלִשְׂכִֽירְךָ֙ וּלְתוֹשָׁ֣בְךָ֔ הַגָּרִ֖ים עִמָּֽךְ׃Whatever the land yields during the Sabbath year shall be food for you—for yourself, your manservant and maidservant, the hired hand or foreigner who stays with you,7En vir jou vee en vir die wilde diere wat in jou land is, sal al sy opbrengs wees om te eet.וְלִ֨בְהֶמְתְּךָ֔ וְלַֽחַיָּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּאַרְצֶ֑ךָ תִּהְיֶ֥ה כָל־תְּבוּאָתָ֖הּ לֶאֱכֹֽל׃ סand for your livestock and the wild animals in your land. And you shall count off seven Sabbaths of years—seven times seven years—so that the seven Sabbaths of years amount to forty-nine years.9Dan moet jy in die sewende maand, op die tiende van die maand, die ramshoring van geskal laat deurklink; op die Versoendag moet julle die ramshoring deur julle hele land laat deurklink. Then you are to sound the horn far and wide on the tenth day of the seventh month, the Day of Atonement. You shall sound it throughout your land.10En julle moet die vyftigste jaar heilig maak en vryheid uitroep in die land vir al sy inwoners. The price of his sale will be determined by the number of years, based on the daily wages of a hired hand.51As daar nog baie jare oor is, moet hy na gelang daarvan sy lossing terugbetaal uit die geld van sy koopprys. If many years remain, he must pay for his redemption in proportion to his purchase price.52En as daar min jare oor is tot die jubeljaar, moet hy dit vir hom bereken; volgens sy jare moet hy sy lossing terugbetaal. If only a few years remain until the Year of Jubilee, he is to calculate and pay his redemption according to his remaining years.53Soos 'n dagloner, jaar na jaar, sal hy by hom wees; hy mag nie met hardheid oor hom heers voor jou oë nie. He shall be treated like a man hired from year to year, but a foreign owner must not rule over him harshly in your sight.54En as hy nie op hierdie maniere gelos word nie, dan sal hy in die jubeljaar uitgaan, hy en sy seuns saam met hom. Even if he is not redeemed in any of these ways, he and his children shall be released in the Year of Jubilee.55Want vir My is die Israeliete knegte; My knegte is hulle wat Ek uit die land Egipte uitgelei het. Ek is die HERE julle God.’” For the Israelites are My servants. They are My servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
