18Toe het koning Dawid ingegaan en voor die aangesig van die HERE gaan sit, en hy het gesê: “Wie is ek, Here GOD, en wat is my huis, dat U my tot hiertoe gebring het?וַיָּבֹא֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ דָּוִ֔ד וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַיֹּ֗אמֶר מִ֣י אָנֹכִ֞י אֲדֹנָ֤י יְהוִה֙ וּמִ֣י בֵיתִ֔י כִּ֥י הֲבִיאֹתַ֖נִי עַד־הֲלֹֽם׃Then King David went in, sat before the LORD, and said, “Who am I, O Lord GOD, and what is my house, that You have brought me this far?19En dit was nog te klein in U oë, Here GOD, en U het ook oor die huis van U kneg gespreek tot ver in die toekoms. 25En nou, HERE God, laat die woord wat U oor U kneg en oor sy huis gespreek het, vir ewig stand hou, en doen soos U gespreek het.וְעַתָּה֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהִ֔ים הַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבַּ֤רְתָּ עַֽל־עַבְדְּךָ֙ וְעַל־בֵּית֔וֹ הָקֵ֖ם עַד־עוֹלָ֑ם וַעֲשֵׂ֖ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּֽרְתָּ׃And now, O LORD God, confirm forever the word You have spoken concerning Your servant and his house. For You, O Lord GOD, have spoken, and with Your blessing the house of Your servant will be blessed forever.”
