32In die tweede jaar van Peka, die seun van Remalia, koning van Israel, het Jotam, die seun van Ussia, koning van Juda, koning geword.בִּשְׁנַ֣ת שְׁתַּ֔יִם לְפֶ֥קַח בֶּן־רְמַלְיָ֖הוּ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מָלַ֛ךְ יוֹתָ֥ם בֶּן־עֻזִיָּ֖הוּ מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָֽה׃In the second year of the reign of Pekah son of Remaliah over Israel, Jotham son of Uzziah became king of Judah.33Vyf-en-twintig jaar oud was hy toe hy koning geword het, en sestien jaar het hy in Jerusalem geregeer; en die naam van sy moeder was Jerusa, die dogter van Sadok.בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִ֨ים וְחָמֵ֤שׁ שָׁנָה֙ הָיָ֣ה בְמָלְכ֔וֹ וְשֵׁשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה שָׁנָ֔ה מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמּ֔וֹ יְרוּשָׁ֖א בַּת־צָדֽוֹק׃He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. His mother’s name was Jerusha daughter of Zadok.34En hy het gedoen wat reg is in die oë van die HERE; net soos alles wat sy vader Ussia gedoen het, het hy gedoen.וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הַיָּשָׁ֖ר בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה כְּכֹ֧ל אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֛ה עֻזִיָּ֥הוּ אָבִ֖יו עָשָֽׂה׃And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father Uzziah had done.35Net, die hoogtes het nie verdwyn nie; die volk het nog op die hoogtes geoffer en wierook gebrand. Hy het die boonste poort van die huis van die HERE gebou.רַ֤ק הַבָּמוֹת֙ לֹ֣א סָ֔רוּ ע֗וֹד הָעָ֛ם מְזַבְּחִ֥ים וּֽמְקַטְּרִ֖ים בַּבָּמ֑וֹת ה֗וּא בָּנָ֛ה אֶת־שַׁ֥עַר בֵּית־יְהוָ֖ה הָעֶלְיֽוֹן׃Nevertheless, the high places were not taken away; the people continued sacrificing and burning incense there. Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate of the house of the LORD.36En die res van die sake van Jotam, wat hy gedoen het, is dit nie geskryf in die boek van die kronieke van die konings van Juda nie?וְיֶ֛תֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י יוֹתָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה הֲלֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃As for the rest of the acts of Jotham, along with his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?37In daardie dae het die HERE begin om Resin, die koning van Aram, en Peka, die seun van Remalia, teen Juda te stuur.בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֔ם הֵחֵ֣ל יְהוָ֗ה לְהַשְׁלִ֨יחַ֙ בִּֽיהוּדָ֔ה רְצִ֖ין מֶ֣לֶךְ אֲרָ֑ם וְאֵ֖ת פֶּ֥קַח בֶּן־רְמַלְיָֽהוּ׃(In those days the LORD began to send Rezin king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah.)38Jotam het by sy vaders gaan lê en is by sy vaders begrawe in die stad van Dawid, sy vader; en sy seun Agas het in sy plek koning geword.וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב יוֹתָם֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו וַיִּקָּבֵר֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו בְּעִ֖יר דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֑יו וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ אָחָ֥ז בְּנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃ פAnd Jotham rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David his father. And his son Ahaz reigned in his place.
