10En aan die einde van 20 jaar, waarin Salomo die twee huise gebou het, die huis van die HERE en die huis van die koning —וַיְהִ֗י מִקְצֵה֙ עֶשְׂרִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־בָּנָ֥ה שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה אֶת־שְׁנֵ֣י הַבָּתִּ֑ים אֶת־בֵּ֥ית יְהוָ֖ה וְאֶת־בֵּ֥ית הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃Now at the end of the twenty years during which Solomon built these two houses, the house of the LORD and the royal palace,11– Hiram, die koning van Tir, het vir Salomo sederhout en sipreshout en goud aangedra, na al sy begeerte – toe het koning Salomo vir Hiram 20 stede gegee in die land Galilea.חִירָ֣ם מֶֽלֶךְ־צֹ֠ר נִשָּׂ֨א אֶת־שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה בַּעֲצֵי֩ אֲרָזִ֨ים וּבַעֲצֵ֧י בְרוֹשִׁ֛ים וּבַזָּהָ֖ב לְכָל־חֶפְצ֑וֹ אָ֡ז יִתֵּן֩ הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֤ה לְחִירָם֙ עֶשְׂרִ֣ים עִ֔יר בְּאֶ֖רֶץ הַגָּלִֽיל׃King Solomon gave twenty towns in the land of Galilee to Hiram king of Tyre, who had supplied him with cedar and cypress logs and gold for his every desire.12En Hiram het uit Tirus uitgegaan om die stede te sien wat Salomo aan hom gegee het, maar hulle was nie reg in sy oë nie.וַיֵּצֵ֤א חִירָם֙ מִצֹּ֔ר לִרְאוֹת֙ אֶת־הֶ֣עָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַן־ל֖וֹ שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה וְלֹ֥א יָשְׁר֖וּ בְּעֵינָֽיו׃So Hiram went out from Tyre to inspect the towns that Solomon had given him, but he was not pleased with them.13En hy het gesê: “Wat is dit vir stede wat jy my gegee het, my broer?” En hy het hulle die land Kabul genoem, tot vandag toe.וַיֹּ֕אמֶר מָ֚ה הֶעָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֥תָּה לִּ֖י אָחִ֑י וַיִּקְרָ֤א לָהֶם֙ אֶ֣רֶץ כָּב֔וּל עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ פ“What are these towns you have given me, my brother?” asked Hiram, and he called them the Land of Cabul, as they are called to this day.14En Hiram het aan die koning 120 talente goud gestuur.aOngeveer 4 000 kilogram.וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח חִירָ֖ם לַמֶּ֑לֶךְ מֵאָ֥ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים כִּכַּ֥ר זָהָֽב׃And Hiram had sent the king 120 talents of gold.
15En dit is die saak van die dwangarbeid wat koning Salomo opgelê het om die huis van die HERE en sy huis en die Millo en die muur van Jerusalem en Hasor en Megiddo en Geser te bou.aOf: die verslag van die dwangarbeid.וְזֶ֨ה דְבַר־הַמַּ֜ס אֲשֶֽׁר־הֶעֱלָ֣ה׀ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה לִבְנוֹת֩ אֶת־בֵּ֨ית יְהוָ֤ה וְאֶת־בֵּיתוֹ֙ וְאֶת־הַמִּלּ֔וֹא וְאֵ֖ת חוֹמַ֣ת יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וְאֶת־חָצֹ֥ר וְאֶת־מְגִדּ֖וֹ וְאֶת־גָּֽזֶר׃This is the account of the forced labor that King Solomon imposed to build the house of the LORD, his own palace, the supporting terraces, and the wall of Jerusalem, as well as Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.16Farao, die koning van Egipte, het opgetrek en Geser ingeneem en dit met vuur verbrand; en die Kanaäniete wat in die stad gewoon het, het hy doodgemaak. He had set it on fire, killed the Canaanites who lived in the city, and given it as a dowry to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.17En Salomo het Geser gebou en Bet-Horon die laer,וַיִּ֤בֶן שְׁלֹמֹה֙ אֶת־גָּ֔זֶר וְאֶת־בֵּ֥ית חֹרֹ֖ן תַּחְתּֽוֹן׃So Solomon rebuilt Gezer, Lower Beth-horon,18en Baälat en in die woestyn, in die land,aHebreeus onduidelik.וְאֶֽת־בַּעֲלָ֛ת וְאֶת־בַּמִּדְבָּ֖ר בָּאָֽרֶץ׃Baalath, and Tamar in the Wilderness of Judah,19en al die voorraadstede wat aan Salomo behoort het, en die stede vir die strydwaens en die stede vir die ruiters, en die begeerte van Salomo wat hy begeer het om te bou in Jerusalem en in Libanon en in die hele land van sy heerskappy.וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־עָרֵ֤י הַֽמִּסְכְּנוֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָי֣וּ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וְאֵת֙ עָרֵ֣י הָרֶ֔כֶב וְאֵ֖ת עָרֵ֣י הַפָּרָשִׁ֑ים וְאֵ֣ת׀ חֵ֣שֶׁק שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר חָשַׁק֙ לִבְנ֤וֹת בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֨ם֙ וּבַלְּבָנ֔וֹן וּבְכֹ֖ל אֶ֥רֶץ מֶמְשַׁלְתּֽוֹ׃as well as all the store cities that Solomon had for his chariots and horses —whatever he desired to build in Jerusalem, Lebanon, and throughout the land of his dominion.

So he completed the temple.
26En koning Salomo het 'n vloot gebou in Esion-Geber, wat by Elot is, aan die kus van die Rietsee, in die land Edom.וָאֳנִ֡י עָשָׂה֩ הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה בְּעֶצְיֽוֹן־גֶּ֨בֶר אֲשֶׁ֧ר אֶת־אֵל֛וֹת עַל־שְׂפַ֥ת יַם־ס֖וּף בְּאֶ֥רֶץ אֱדֽוֹם׃King Solomon also assembled a fleet of ships at Ezion-geber, which is near Eloth in Edom, on the shore of the Red Sea.27En Hiram het in die vloot sy dienaars gestuur, skeepsmanne wat die see ken, saam met die dienaars van Salomo.וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח חִירָ֤ם בָּֽאֳנִי֙ אֶת־עֲבָדָ֔יו אַנְשֵׁ֣י אֳנִיּ֔וֹת יֹדְעֵ֖י הַיָּ֑ם עִ֖ם עַבְדֵ֥י שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃And Hiram sent his servants, sailors who knew the sea, to serve in the fleet with Solomon’s servants.28Hulle het by Ofir gekom en daarvandaan goud geneem, 420 talente, en dit na koning Salomo gebring.aOngeveer veertien ton.וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ אוֹפִ֔ירָה וַיִּקְח֤וּ מִשָּׁם֙ זָהָ֔ב אַרְבַּע־מֵא֥וֹת וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים כִּכָּ֑ר וַיָּבִ֖אוּ אֶל־הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ פThey sailed to Ophir and imported gold from there—420 talents —and delivered it to Solomon.
