1En Hy het weer in 'n sinagoge ingegaan, en daar was 'n mens wat 'n verdorde hand gehad het.Καὶ εἰσῆλθεν πάλιν ⸀εἰς συναγωγήν, καὶ ἦν ἐκεῖ ἄνθρωπος ἐξηραμμένην ἔχων τὴν χεῖρα.Once again Jesus entered the synagogue, and a man with a withered hand was there. 2En hulle het Hom in die oog gehou of Hy hom op die sabbat sou genees, sodat hulle Hom kon aankla.καὶ παρετήρουν αὐτὸν εἰ τοῖς σάββασιν θεραπεύσει αὐτόν, ἵνα ⸀κατηγορήσωσιν αὐτοῦ.In order to accuse Jesus, they were watching to see if He would heal on the Sabbath. 3En Hy sê vir die mens met die verdorde hand: “Staan op, in die middel in.”καὶ λέγει τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ τῷ ⸂τὴν χεῖρα ἔχοντι ξηράν⸃· ⸀Ἔγειρε εἰς τὸ μέσον.Then Jesus said to the man with the withered hand, “Stand up among us.” 4En Hy sê vir hulle: “Is dit geoorloof om op die sabbat goed te doen of kwaad te doen, 'n lewe te red of dood te maak?” And He asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?” But they were silent.
Jesus looked around at them with anger and sorrow at their hardness of heart. Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and it was restored.
At this, the Pharisees went out and began plotting with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.
7En Jesus het Hom met Sy dissipels na die see teruggetrek; en 'n groot menigte uit Galilea het gevolg, en uit JudeaΚαὶ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ⸂μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ἀνεχώρησεν⸃ πρὸς τὴν θάλασσαν· καὶ πολὺ πλῆθος ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλιλαίας ⸀ἠκολούθησεν, καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς ἸουδαίαςSo Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea, accompanied by a large crowd from Galilee, Judea, 8en uit Jerusalem en uit Idumea en van oorkant die Jordaan en van rondom Tirus en Sidon, 'n groot menigte wat gehoor het wat Hy alles doen, het na Hom gekom.καὶ ἀπὸ Ἱεροσολύμων καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰδουμαίας ⸀καὶ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου ⸁καὶ περὶ Τύρον καὶ Σιδῶνα, πλῆθος πολύ, ⸀ἀκούοντες ὅσα ⸀ἐποίει ἦλθον πρὸς αὐτόν.Jerusalem, Idumea, the region beyond the Jordan, and the vicinity of Tyre and Sidon. The large crowd came to Him when they heard what great things He was doing. 9En Hy het vir Sy dissipels gesê dat 'n skuitjie vir Hom gereed moes bly vanweë die skare, sodat hulle Hom nie sou vasdruk nie;καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ἵνα πλοιάριον προσκαρτερῇ αὐτῷ διὰ τὸν ὄχλον ἵνα μὴ θλίβωσιν αὐτόν·Jesus asked His disciples to have a boat ready for Him so that the crowd would not crush Him. 10want Hy het baie genees, sodat almal wat kwale gehad het op Hom toegedring het om aan Hom te raak.πολλοὺς γὰρ ἐθεράπευσεν, ὥστε ἐπιπίπτειν αὐτῷ ἵνα αὐτοῦ ἅψωνται ὅσοι εἶχον μάστιγας.For He had healed so many that all who had diseases were pressing forward to touch Him. 11En die onreine geeste, wanneer hulle Hom gesien het, het voor Hom neergeval en geskreeu en gesê: “U is die Seun van God.”καὶ τὰ πνεύματα τὰ ἀκάθαρτα, ὅταν αὐτὸν ⸂ἐθεώρουν, προσέπιπτον⸃ αὐτῷ καὶ ⸀ἔκραζον ⸀λέγοντα ὅτι Σὺ εἶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ.And when the unclean spirits saw Him, they fell down before Him and cried out, “You are the Son of God!” 12En Hy het hulle skerp bestraf dat hulle Hom nie bekend moes maak nie.καὶ πολλὰ ἐπετίμα αὐτοῖς ἵνα μὴ ⸂αὐτὸν φανερὸν⸃ ⸀ποιήσωσιν.But He warned them sternly not to make Him known.
Then Jesus went up on the mountain and called for those He wanted, and they came to Him. 14En Hy het twaalf aangestel, sodat hulle by Hom kon wees en sodat Hy hulle kon uitstuur om te verkondig
aLetterlik: gemaak.
καὶ ἐποίησεν ⸀δώδεκα, ἵνα ὦσιν μετʼ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἵνα ἀποστέλλῃ αὐτοὺς κηρύσσεινHe appointed twelve of them, whom He designated as apostles, to accompany Him, to be sent out to preach,
καὶ ἔχειν ⸀ἐξουσίαν ἐκβάλλειν τὰ δαιμόνια·and to have authority to drive out demons.
καὶ ⸂ἐποίησεν τοὺς δώδεκα, καὶ⸃ ἐπέθηκεν ⸂ὄνομα τῷ Σίμωνι⸃ Πέτρον,These are the twelve He appointed: Simon (whom He named Peter),
17en Jakobus, die seun van Sebedeus, en Johannes, die broer van Jakobus (en Hy het aan hulle die name Boanerges gegee, dit is Seuns van die Donder),καὶ Ἰάκωβον τὸν τοῦ Ζεβεδαίου καὶ Ἰωάννην τὸν ἀδελφὸν τοῦ Ἰακώβου (καὶ ἐπέθηκεν αὐτοῖς ⸀ὀνόματα Βοανηργές, ὅ ἐστιν Υἱοὶ Βροντῆς),James son of Zebedee and his brother John (whom He named Boanerges, meaning “Sons of Thunder”), 18en Andreas en Filippus en Bartolomeus en Matteus en Tomas en Jakobus, die seun van Alfeus, en Taddeus en Simon die Kananeërκαὶ Ἀνδρέαν καὶ Φίλιππον καὶ Βαρθολομαῖον καὶ Μαθθαῖον καὶ Θωμᾶν καὶ Ἰάκωβον τὸν τοῦ Ἁλφαίου καὶ Θαδδαῖον καὶ Σίμωνα τὸν ⸀ΚαναναῖονAndrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot, 19en Judas Iskariot, wat Hom ook oorgelewer het.καὶ Ἰούδαν ⸀Ἰσκαριώθ, ὃς καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτόν.and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus.
Then Jesus went home, and once again a crowd gathered, so that He and His disciples could not even eat.
When His family heard about this, they went out to take custody of Him, saying, “He is out of His mind.”
And the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul, ” and, “By the prince of the demons He drives out demons.” 23En Hy het hulle na Hom geroep en in gelykenisse vir hulle gesê: “Hoe kan Satan Satan uitdryf?καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος αὐτοὺς ἐν παραβολαῖς ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· Πῶς δύναται Σατανᾶς Σατανᾶν ἐκβάλλειν;So Jesus called them together and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? 24En as 'n koninkryk teen homself verdeeld word, kan daardie koninkryk nie bly staan nie;καὶ ἐὰν βασιλεία ἐφʼ ἑαυτὴν μερισθῇ, οὐ δύναται σταθῆναι ἡ βασιλεία ἐκείνη·If a kingdom is divided against itself, it cannot stand. 25en as 'n huis teen homself verdeeld word, sal daardie huis nie kan bly staan nie.καὶ ἐὰν οἰκία ἐφʼ ἑαυτὴν μερισθῇ, οὐ ⸀δυνήσεται ⸂ἡ οἰκία ἐκείνη σταθῆναι⸃·If a house is divided against itself, it cannot stand. 26En as Satan teen homself opgestaan het en verdeeld is, kan hy nie staande bly nie, maar dit is sy einde.
aLetterlik: hy het 'n einde.
καὶ εἰ ὁ Σατανᾶς ἀνέστη ἐφʼ ἑαυτὸν καὶ ⸀ἐμερίσθη, οὐ δύναται ⸀στῆναι ἀλλὰ τέλος ἔχει.And if Satan is divided and rises against himself, he cannot stand; his end has come.
27Maar niemand kan in die huis van die sterke ingaan en sy besittings plunder as hy nie eers die sterke vasbind nie; en dan sal hy sy huis plunder.⸂ἀλλʼ οὐδεὶς δύναται⸃ ⸂εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ ἰσχυροῦ εἰσελθὼν τὰ σκεύη⸃ αὐτοῦ διαρπάσαι ἐὰν μὴ πρῶτον τὸν ἰσχυρὸν δήσῃ, καὶ τότε τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτοῦ ⸀διαρπάσει.Indeed, no one can enter a strong man’s house to steal his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can plunder his house. 28Voorwaar, Ek sê vir julle: Alles sal die mensekinders vergewe word, die sondes en die lasteringe, wat hulle ook al mag laster;
aLetterlik: die seuns van die mense.
Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πάντα ἀφεθήσεται ⸂τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνθρώπων, τὰ ἁμαρτήματα⸃ καὶ ⸂αἱ βλασφημίαι ὅσα ἐὰν⸃ βλασφημήσωσιν·Truly I tell you, the sons of men will be forgiven all sins and blasphemies, as many as they utter.
But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of eternal sin.”
30Want hulle het gesê: “Hy het 'n onreine gees.”ὅτι ἔλεγον· Πνεῦμα ἀκάθαρτον ἔχει.Jesus made this statement because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”
Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came and stood outside. They sent someone in to summon Him, 32En 'n skare het rondom Hom gesit, en hulle sê vir Hom: “Kyk, U moeder en U broers soek U daar buite.”
aSommige manuskripte lees: Kyk, U moeder en U broers en U susters soek U daar buite.
καὶ ἐκάθητο ⸂περὶ αὐτὸν ὄχλος⸃, ⸂καὶ λέγουσιν⸃ αὐτῷ· Ἰδοὺ ἡ μήτηρ σου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί ⸀σου ἔξω ζητοῦσίν σε.and a crowd was sitting around Him. “Look,” He was told, “Your mother and brothers are outside, asking for You.”
33En Hy antwoord hulle en sê: “Wie is My moeder of My broers?”καὶ ⸂ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτοῖς λέγει⸃· Τίς ἐστιν ἡ μήτηρ μου ⸀ἢ οἱ ἀδελφοί ⸀μου;But Jesus replied, “Who are My mother and My brothers?” 34En Hy het rondom gekyk na dié wat in 'n kring om Hom sit, en sê: “Kyk, My moeder en My broers!καὶ περιβλεψάμενος ⸂τοὺς περὶ αὐτὸν κύκλῳ⸃ καθημένους λέγει· Ἴδε ἡ μήτηρ μου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί μου·Looking at those seated in a circle around Him, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! 35Want wie die wil van God doen, dié is My broer en suster en moeder.”ὃς ⸀γὰρ ἂν ποιήσῃ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ, οὗτος ἀδελφός μου καὶ ⸀ἀδελφὴ καὶ μήτηρ ἐστίν.For whoever does the will of God is My brother and sister and mother.”
