1Hierna het Jesus Homself weer aan die dissipels geopenbaar by die See van Tiberias; en so het Hy Homself geopenbaar.Μετὰ ταῦτα ἐφανέρωσεν ἑαυτὸν πάλιν ⸀ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοῖς μαθηταῖς ἐπὶ τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς Τιβεριάδος· ἐφανέρωσεν δὲ οὕτως.Later, by the Sea of Tiberias, Jesus again revealed Himself to the disciples. He made Himself known in this way:2Saam was Simon Petrus en Tomas, wat Didimus genoem word, en Natanael van Kana in Galilea, en die seuns van Sebedeus, en twee ander van Sy dissipels.aLetterlik: Die seuns van Sebedeus: letterlik “die van Sebedeus”.ἦσαν ὁμοῦ Σίμων Πέτρος καὶ Θωμᾶς ὁ λεγόμενος Δίδυμος καὶ Ναθαναὴλ ὁ ἀπὸ Κανὰ τῆς Γαλιλαίας καὶ οἱ τοῦ Ζεβεδαίου καὶ ἄλλοι ἐκ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ δύο.Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together.3Simon Petrus sê vir hulle: “Ek gaan visvang.” Simon Peter told them, “I am going fishing.” “We will go with you,” they said. So they went out and got into the boat, but caught nothing that night.4Toe dit al vroeg môre geword het, het Jesus op die strand gaan staan; die dissipels het egter nie geweet dat dit Jesus is nie.Πρωΐας δὲ ἤδη ⸀γενομένης ⸀ἔστη Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὸν αἰγιαλόν· οὐ μέντοι ᾔδεισαν οἱ μαθηταὶ ὅτι Ἰησοῦς ἐστιν.Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not recognize that it was Jesus.5Jesus sê dan vir hulle: “Kinders, het julle dalk iets om te eet?” Hulle antwoord Hom: “Nee.”λέγει οὖν αὐτοῖς ⸀ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Παιδία, μή τι προσφάγιον ἔχετε; ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτῷ· Οὔ.So He called out to them, “Children, do you have any fish?” He told them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it there, and they were unable to haul it in because of the great number of fish.7Daardie dissipel wat Jesus liefgehad het, sê toe vir Petrus: “Dit is die Here.” Toe Simon Petrus hoor dat dit die Here is, het hy sy bokleed om hom vasgebind, want hy was kaal, en homself in die see gegooi.aOf: skaars geklee.λέγει οὖν ὁ μαθητὴς ἐκεῖνος ὃν ἠγάπα ὁ Ἰησοῦς τῷ Πέτρῳ· Ὁ κύριός ἐστιν. Σίμων οὖν Πέτρος, ἀκούσας ὅτι ὁ κύριός ἐστιν, τὸν ἐπενδύτην διεζώσατο, ἦν γὰρ γυμνός, καὶ ἔβαλεν ἑαυτὸν εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν·Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it) and jumped into the sea.8Maar die ander dissipels het met die bootjie gekom, want hulle was nie ver van die land af nie, maar omtrent 200 el, en het die net met die visse gesleep.aOngeveer 90 meter.οἱ δὲ ἄλλοι μαθηταὶ τῷ πλοιαρίῳ ἦλθον, οὐ γὰρ ἦσαν μακρὰν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἀλλὰ ὡς ἀπὸ πηχῶν διακοσίων, σύροντες τὸ δίκτυον τῶν ἰχθύων.The other disciples came ashore in the boat. They dragged in the net full of fish, for they were not far from land, only about a hundred yards.9Toe hulle dan op die land uitgeklim het, sien hulle 'n kolevuur wat daar lê, en 'n vis wat daarop lê, en brood.Ὡς οὖν ἀπέβησαν εἰς τὴν γῆν βλέπουσιν ἀνθρακιὰν κειμένην καὶ ὀψάριον ἐπικείμενον καὶ ἄρτον.When they landed, they saw a charcoal fire there with fish on it, and some bread.10Jesus sê vir hulle: “Bring van die visse wat julle nou gevang het.”λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ἐνέγκατε ἀπὸ τῶν ὀψαρίων ὧν ἐπιάσατε νῦν.Jesus told them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.”11Simon Petrus het toe opgeklim en die net op die land getrek, vol groot visse, 153; en al was daar so baie, het die net nie geskeur nie.ἀνέβη ⸀οὖν Σίμων Πέτρος καὶ εἵλκυσεν τὸ δίκτυον ⸂εἰς τὴν γῆν⸃ μεστὸν ἰχθύων μεγάλων ἑκατὸν πεντήκοντα τριῶν· καὶ τοσούτων ὄντων οὐκ ἐσχίσθη τὸ δίκτυον.So Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many, the net was not torn.12Jesus sê vir hulle: “Kom ontbyt.” Niemand van die dissipels het egter gewaag om Hom uit te vra: “Wie is U?” nie, omdat hulle geweet het dat dit die Here is.λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Δεῦτε ἀριστήσατε. οὐδεὶς ⸀δὲ ἐτόλμα τῶν μαθητῶν ἐξετάσαι αὐτόν· Σὺ τίς εἶ; εἰδότες ὅτι ὁ κύριός ἐστιν.“Come, have breakfast,” Jesus said to them. None of the disciples dared to ask Him, “Who are You?” They knew it was the Lord.13Jesus kom en neem die brood en gee dit vir hulle, en die vis net so.⸀ἔρχεται ⸀ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ λαμβάνει τὸν ἄρτον καὶ δίδωσιν αὐτοῖς, καὶ τὸ ὀψάριον ὁμοίως.Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and He did the same with the fish.14Dit was al die derde keer dat Jesus aan die dissipels geopenbaar is nadat Hy uit die dode opgewek is.τοῦτο ἤδη τρίτον ἐφανερώθη ⸀ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοῖς ⸀μαθηταῖς ἐγερθεὶς ἐκ νεκρῶν.This was now the third time that Jesus appeared to the disciples after He was raised from the dead.
15Toe hulle dan ontbyt geëet het, sê Jesus vir Simon Petrus: “Simon, seun van Johannes, het jy My meer lief as hierdie?” Hy sê vir Hom: “Ja, Here, U weet dat ek lief is vir U.” Hy sê vir hom: “Weid my lammers.”aSommige manuskripte lees: Jona.bOf: Meer as hierdie dinge, of: meer as wat hierdie mense My liefhet.Ὅτε οὖν ἠρίστησαν λέγει τῷ Σίμωνι Πέτρῳ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Σίμων ⸀Ἰωάννου, ἀγαπᾷς με πλέον τούτων; λέγει αὐτῷ· Ναί, κύριε, σὺ οἶδας ὅτι φιλῶ σε. λέγει αὐτῷ· Βόσκε τὰ ἀρνία μου.When they had finished eating, Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love Me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he answered, “You know I love You.” Jesus replied, “Feed My lambs.”16Hy sê weer vir hom, 'n tweede keer: “Simon, seun van Johannes, het jy My lief?” Hy sê vir Hom: “Ja, Here, U weet dat ek lief is vir U.” Hy sê vir hom: “Wees 'n herder vir My skape.”aSommige manuskripte lees: Simon, seun van Jona.λέγει αὐτῷ πάλιν δεύτερον· Σίμων ⸀Ἰωάννου, ἀγαπᾷς με; λέγει αὐτῷ· Ναί, κύριε, σὺ οἶδας ὅτι φιλῶ σε. λέγει αὐτῷ· Ποίμαινε τὰ πρόβατά μου.Jesus asked a second time, “Simon son of John, do you love Me?” “Yes, Lord,” he answered, “You know I love You.” Jesus told him, “Shepherd My sheep.”17Hy sê vir hom die derde keer: “Simon, seun van Johannes, is jy lief vir My?” Petrus het bedroef geword omdat Hy die derde keer vir hom gesê het: “Is jy lief vir My?” en hy het vir Hom gesê: “Here, U weet alles; U weet dat ek lief is vir U.” Jesus sê vir hom: “Laat My skape wei.”aSommige manuskripte lees: Simon, seun van Jona.λέγει αὐτῷ τὸ τρίτον· Σίμων ⸀Ἰωάννου, φιλεῖς με; ἐλυπήθη ὁ Πέτρος ὅτι εἶπεν αὐτῷ τὸ τρίτον· Φιλεῖς με; καὶ ⸀εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Κύριε, ⸂πάντα σὺ⸃ οἶδας, σὺ γινώσκεις ὅτι φιλῶ σε. λέγει αὐτῷ ⸀ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Βόσκε τὰ ⸀πρόβατά μου.Jesus asked a third time, “Simon son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was deeply hurt that Jesus had asked him a third time, “Do you love Me?” “Lord, You know all things,” he replied. “You know I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.18“Waarlik, waarlik, Ek sê vir jou: toe jy jonger was, het jy jouself gegord en rondgeloop waar jy wou; maar wanneer jy oud geword het, sal jy jou hande uitsteek, en 'n ander sal jou gord en jou bring waar jy nie wil nie.”ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω σοι, ὅτε ἦς νεώτερος, ἐζώννυες σεαυτὸν καὶ περιεπάτεις ὅπου ἤθελες· ὅταν δὲ γηράσῃς, ἐκτενεῖς τὰς χεῖράς σου, καὶ ἄλλος ⸂σε ζώσει⸃ καὶ οἴσει ὅπου οὐ θέλεις.Truly, truly, I tell you, when you were young, you dressed yourself and walked where you wanted; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.”19Dit het Hy gesê om aan te dui met watter dood hy God sou verheerlik. En nadat Hy dit gesê het, sê Hy vir hom: “Volg My.”τοῦτο δὲ εἶπεν σημαίνων ποίῳ θανάτῳ δοξάσει τὸν θεόν. καὶ τοῦτο εἰπὼν λέγει αὐτῷ· Ἀκολούθει μοι.Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. And after He had said this, He told him, “Follow Me.”
20Toe Petrus omdraai, sien hy die dissipel wat Jesus liefgehad het, volg, die een wat ook by die maaltyd teen Sy bors aangelê en gesê het: “Here, wie is dit wat U verraai?”aLetterlik: wat U oorlewer.⸀Ἐπιστραφεὶς ὁ Πέτρος βλέπει τὸν μαθητὴν ὃν ἠγάπα ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἀκολουθοῦντα, ὃς καὶ ἀνέπεσεν ἐν τῷ δείπνῳ ἐπὶ τὸ στῆθος αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν· Κύριε, τίς ἐστιν ὁ παραδιδούς σε;Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them. He was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper to ask, “Lord, who is going to betray You?”21Toe Petrus hom sien, sê hy vir Jesus: “Here, en wat van hom?”τοῦτον ⸀οὖν ἰδὼν ὁ Πέτρος λέγει τῷ Ἰησοῦ· Κύριε, οὗτος δὲ τί;When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”22Jesus sê vir hom: “As ek wil hê dat hy bly totdat ek kom, wat gaan dit jou aan? Jy, volg my.”λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ἐὰν αὐτὸν θέλω μένειν ἕως ἔρχομαι, τί πρὸς σέ; σύ ⸂μοι ἀκολούθει⸃.Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you? You follow Me!”23Hierdie woord het toe onder die broers en susters uitgegaan dat daardie dissipel nie sou sterf nie. Maar Jesus het nie vir hom gesê dat hy nie sou sterf nie, maar: “As Ek wil dat hy bly totdat Ek kom, wat gaan dit jou aan?”aLetterlik: broers.ἐξῆλθεν οὖν ⸂οὗτος ὁ λόγος⸃ εἰς τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὅτι ὁ μαθητὴς ἐκεῖνος οὐκ ἀποθνῄσκει. ⸂οὐκ εἶπεν δὲ⸃ αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ὅτι οὐκ ἀποθνῄσκει ἀλλʼ· Ἐὰν αὐτὸν θέλω μένειν ἕως ἔρχομαι, τί πρὸς σέ;Because of this, the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple would not die. However, Jesus did not say that he would not die, but only, “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you?”
24Dit is die dissipel wat van hierdie dinge getuig en wat dit geskryf het, en ons weet dat sy getuienis waar is.Οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ μαθητὴς ὁ μαρτυρῶν περὶ τούτων καὶ ⸀ὁ γράψας ταῦτα, καὶ οἴδαμεν ὅτι ἀληθὴς ⸂αὐτοῦ ἡ μαρτυρία ἐστίν⸃.This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who has written them down. And we know that his testimony is true.25Daar is ook baie ander dinge wat Jesus gedoen het; as dit een vir een opgeskryf moes word, dink ek dat selfs die wêreld self die geskrewe boeke nie sou kon bevat nie.aSommige manuskripte lees: Sommige manuskripte voeg aan die einde by: Amen.ἔστιν δὲ καὶ ἄλλα πολλὰ ⸀ἃ ἐποίησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς, ἅτινα ἐὰν γράφηται καθʼ ἕν, οὐδʼ αὐτὸν οἶμαι τὸν κόσμον ⸀χωρήσειν τὰ γραφόμενα ⸀βιβλία.There are many more things that Jesus did. If all of them were written down, I suppose that not even the world itself would have space for the books that would be written.
