1En die hele vergadering van die Israeliete het in Silo bymekaargekom en daar die tent van samekoms laat woon; en die land was voor hulle onderwerp.וַיִּקָּ֨הֲל֜וּ כָּל־עֲדַ֤ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ שִׁלֹ֔ה וַיַּשְׁכִּ֥ינוּ שָׁ֖ם אֶת־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְהָאָ֥רֶץ נִכְבְּשָׁ֖ה לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃Then the whole congregation of Israel assembled at Shiloh and set up the Tent of Meeting there. And though the land was subdued before them, 2En onder die Israeliete het sewe stamme oorgebly wat hulle erfdeel nie verdeel het nie.וַיִּוָּֽתְרוּ֙ בִּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־חָלְק֖וּ אֶת־נַֽחֲלָתָ֑ם שִׁבְעָ֖ה שְׁבָטִֽים׃there were still seven tribes of Israel who had not yet received their inheritance. 3Toe sê Josua vir die Israeliete: “Tot wanneer is julle traag om te kom om die land in besit te neem wat die HERE, die God van julle vaders, aan julle gegee het?וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל עַד־אָ֨נָה֙ אַתֶּ֣ם מִתְרַפִּ֔ים לָבוֹא֙ לָרֶ֣שֶׁת אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁר֙ נָתַ֣ן לָכֶ֔ם יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃So Joshua said to the Israelites, “How long will you put off entering and possessing the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you? 4Gee vir julle drie manne per stam, dan stuur ek hulle; en hulle moet opstaan en deur die land trek en dit opskryf volgens hulle erfdeel, en na my toe kom.הָב֥וּ לָכֶ֛ם שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה אֲנָשִׁ֖ים לַשָּׁ֑בֶט וְאֶשְׁלָחֵ֗ם וְיָקֻ֜מוּ וְיִֽתְהַלְּכ֥וּ בָאָ֛רֶץ וְיִכְתְּב֥וּ אוֹתָ֛הּ לְפִ֥י נַֽחֲלָתָ֖ם וְיָבֹ֥אוּ אֵלָֽי׃Appoint three men from each tribe, and I will send them out to survey the land and map it out, according to the inheritance of each. Judah shall remain in their territory in the south, and the house of Joseph shall remain in their territory in the north. 6En julle moet die land in sewe dele opskryf en dit hierheen na my toe bring; dan sal ek hier vir julle 'n lot gooi voor die aangesig van die HERE, ons God.וְאַתֶּ֞ם תִּכְתְּב֤וּ אֶת־הָאָ֨רֶץ֙ שִׁבְעָ֣ה חֲלָקִ֔ים וַֽהֲבֵאתֶ֥ם אֵלַ֖י הֵ֑נָּה וְיָרִ֨יתִי לָכֶ֤ם גּוֹרָל֙ פֹּ֔ה לִפְנֵ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃When you have mapped out the seven portions of land and brought it to me, I will cast lots for you here in the presence of the LORD our God. 7Want die Leviete het geen deel onder julle nie, want die priesterskap van die HERE is sy erfdeel; en Gad en Ruben en die halwe stam Manasse het hulle erfdeel oorkant die Jordaan, aan die oostekant, geneem, wat Moses, die kneg van die HERE, aan hulle gegee het.”כִּ֠י אֵֽין־חֵ֤לֶק לַלְוִיִּם֙ בְּקִרְבְּכֶ֔ם כִּֽי־כְהֻנַּ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה נַחֲלָת֑וֹ וְגָ֡ד וּרְאוּבֵ֡ן וַחֲצִי֩ שֵׁ֨בֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁ֜ה לָקְח֣וּ נַחֲלָתָ֗ם מֵעֵ֤בֶר לַיַּרְדֵּן֙ מִזְרָ֔חָה אֲשֶׁר֙ נָתַ֣ן לָהֶ֔ם מֹשֶׁ֖ה עֶ֥בֶד יְהוָֽה׃The Levites, however, have no portion among you, because their inheritance is the priesthood of the LORD. And Gad, Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh have already received the inheritance that Moses the servant of the LORD gave them beyond the Jordan to the east.” 8Toe het die manne opgestaan en gegaan, en Josua het die wat gegaan het om die land op te skryf, beveel en gesê: “Gaan en trek deur die land en skryf dit op en keer na my terug; dan sal ek hier vir julle die lot werp voor die aangesig van die HERE in Silo.”וַיָּקֻ֥מוּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים וַיֵּלֵ֑כוּ וַיְצַ֣ו יְהוֹשֻׁ֡עַ אֶת־הַהֹלְכִים֩ לִכְתֹּ֨ב אֶת־הָאָ֜רֶץ לֵאמֹ֗ר לְ֠כוּ וְהִתְהַלְּכ֨וּ בָאָ֜רֶץ וְכִתְב֤וּ אוֹתָהּ֙ וְשׁ֣וּבוּ אֵלַ֔י וּ֠פֹה אַשְׁלִ֨יךְ לָכֶ֥ם גּוֹרָ֛ל לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה בְּשִׁלֹֽה׃As the men got up to go out, Joshua commanded them to map out the land, saying, “Go and survey the land, map it out, and return to me. Then I will cast lots for you here in Shiloh in the presence of the LORD.” 9En die manne het gegaan en die land deurgetrek en dit volgens die stede in sewe dele in 'n boek opgeskryf, en hulle het na Josua gekom, na die laer by Silo.וַיֵּלְכ֤וּ הָֽאֲנָשִׁים֙ וַיַּעַבְר֣וּ בָאָ֔רֶץ וַיִּכְתְּב֧וּהָ לֶֽעָרִ֛ים לְשִׁבְעָ֥ה חֲלָקִ֖ים עַל־סֵ֑פֶר וַיָּבֹ֧אוּ אֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁ֛עַ אֶל־הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה שִׁלֹֽה׃So the men departed and went throughout the land, mapping it city by city into seven portions. Then they returned with the document to Joshua at the camp in Shiloh. 10En Josua het vir hulle die lot in Silo gewerp voor die aangesig van die HERE, en Josua het daar die land aan die Israeliete verdeel volgens hulle afdelings.וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ֩ לָהֶ֨ם יְהוֹשֻׁ֧עַ גּוֹרָ֛ל בְּשִׁלֹ֖ה לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַיְחַלֶּק־שָׁ֨ם יְהוֹשֻׁ֧עַ אֶת־הָאָ֛רֶץ לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל כְּמַחְלְקֹתָֽם׃ פAnd Joshua cast lots for them in the presence of the LORD at Shiloh, where he distributed the land to the Israelites according to their divisions.

11En die lot van die stam van die seuns van Benjamin het opgekom volgens hulle families; en die gebied van hulle lot het uitgegaan tussen die seuns van Juda en die seuns van Josef.וַיַּ֗עַל גּוֹרַ֛ל מַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־בִנְיָמִ֖ן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֑ם וַיֵּצֵא֙ גְּב֣וּל גּֽוֹרָלָ֔ם בֵּ֚ין בְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וּבֵ֖ין בְּנֵ֥י יוֹסֵֽף׃The first lot came up for the clans of the tribe of Benjamin. Their allotted territory lay between the tribes of Judah and Joseph: 12En die gebied aan die noordekant was vir hulle van die Jordaan af; en die gebied het opgegaan na die skouer van Jerigo, aan die noordekant, en opgegaan teen die gebergte, weswaarts; en sy uitgange was by die woestyn van Bet-Awen.וַיְהִ֨י לָהֶ֧ם הַגְּב֛וּל לִפְאַ֥ת צָפ֖וֹנָה מִן־הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן וְעָלָ֣ה הַגְּבוּל֩ אֶל־כֶּ֨תֶף יְרִיח֜וֹ מִצָּפ֗וֹן וְעָלָ֤ה בָהָר֙ יָ֔מָּה תֹּֽצְאֹתָ֔יו מִדְבַּ֖רָה בֵּ֥ית אָֽוֶן׃On the north side their border began at the Jordan, went up past the northern slope of Jericho, headed west through the hill country, and came out at the wilderness of Beth-aven. 13En die gebied het van daar oorgegaan na Lus, na die skouer van Lus, suidwaarts, dit is Bet-El; en die gebied het afgedaal na Ataröt-Addar, by die berg wat suid van die onderste Bet-Horon lê.וְעָבַר֩ מִשָּׁ֨ם הַגְּב֜וּל ל֗וּזָה אֶל־כֶּ֤תֶף ל֨וּזָה֙ נֶ֔גְבָּה הִ֖יא בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל וְיָרַ֤ד הַגְּבוּל֙ עַטְר֣וֹת אַדָּ֔ר עַל־הָהָ֕ר אֲשֶׁ֛ר מִנֶּ֥גֶב לְבֵית־חֹר֖וֹן תַּחְתּֽוֹן׃From there the border crossed over to the southern slope of Luz (that is, Bethel) and went down to Ataroth-addar on the hill south of Lower Beth-horon. 14En die gebied het gebuig en om die westekant gedraai, suidwaarts, van die berg af wat teenoor Bet-Horon, suidwaarts, lê; en sy uitgange was by Kirjat-Baäl, dit is Kirjat-Jearim, 'n stad van die seuns van Juda. Dit was die westekant.וְתָאַ֣ר הַגְּבוּל֩ וְנָסַ֨ב לִפְאַת־יָ֜ם נֶ֗גְבָּה מִן־הָהָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר עַל־פְּנֵ֥י בֵית־חֹרוֹן֮ נֶגְבָּה֒ תֹֽצְאֹתָ֗יו אֶל־קִרְיַת־בַּ֨עַל֙ הִ֚יא קִרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֔ים עִ֖יר בְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה זֹ֖את פְּאַת־יָֽם׃On the west side the border curved southward from the hill facing Beth-horon on the south and came out at Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), a city of the sons of Judah. This was the western side. 15En die suidekant was van die einde van Kirjat-Jearim af; en die gebied het weswaarts uitgegaan en uitgegaan na die bron van die waters van Neftoag.וּפְאַת־נֶ֕גְבָּה מִקְצֵ֖ה קִרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֑ים וְיָצָ֤א הַגְּבוּל֙ יָ֔מָּה וְיָצָ֕א אֶל־מַעְיַ֖ן מֵ֥י נֶפְתּֽוֹחַ׃On the south side the border began at the outskirts of Kiriath-jearim and extended westward to the spring at the Waters of Nephtoah. 16En die grens het afgegaan na die einde van die berg wat teenoor die dal van die seun van Hinnom lê, wat in die laagte van Refaïm is, noordwaarts; en dit het afgegaan na die dal van Hinnom, na die hang van die Jebusiet suidwaarts, en afgegaan na En-Rogel.וְיָרַ֨ד הַגְּב֜וּל אֶל־קְצֵ֣ה הָהָ֗ר אֲשֶׁר֙ עַל־פְּנֵי֙ גֵּ֣י בֶן־הִנֹּ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֛ר בְּעֵ֥מֶק רְפָאִ֖ים צָפ֑וֹנָה וְיָרַד֩ גֵּ֨י הִנֹּ֜ם אֶל־כֶּ֤תֶף הַיְבוּסִי֙ נֶ֔גְבָּה וְיָרַ֖ד עֵ֥ין רֹגֵֽל׃Then it went down to the foot of the hill that faces the Valley of Ben-hinnom at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim and ran down the Valley of Hinnom toward the southern slope of the Jebusites and downward to En-rogel. 17En dit het gedraai van die noorde af en uitgegaan na En-Semes en uitgegaan na Gelilot wat teenoor die opdraand van Adummim lê, en afgegaan na die klip van Bohan, die seun van Ruben.וְתָאַ֣ר מִצָּפ֗וֹן וְיָצָא֙ עֵ֣ין שֶׁ֔מֶשׁ וְיָצָא֙ אֶל־גְּלִיל֔וֹת אֲשֶׁר־נֹ֖כַח מַעֲלֵ֣ה אֲדֻמִּ֑ים וְיָרַ֕ד אֶ֥בֶן בֹּ֖הַן בֶּן־רְאוּבֵֽן׃From there it curved northward and proceeded to En-shemesh and on to Geliloth facing the Ascent of Adummim, and continued down to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben. 18En dit het oorgegaan na die hang teenoor die Araba noordwaarts, en afgegaan na die Araba.וְעָבַ֛ר אֶל־כֶּ֥תֶף מוּל־הָֽעֲרָבָ֖ה צָפ֑וֹנָה וְיָרַ֖ד הָעֲרָבָֽתָה׃Then it went on to the northern slope of Beth-arabah and went down into the valley. 19En die gebied het oorgegaan na die skouer van Bet-Hogla, noordwaarts; en die gebied was by die tong van die Soutsee, noordwaarts, by die einde van die Jordaan, suidwaarts. Dit was die suidelike gebied.וְעָבַ֨ר הַגְּב֜וּל אֶל־כֶּ֣תֶף בֵּית־חָגְלָה֮ צָפוֹנָה֒׀ הַגְּב֗וּל אֶל־לְשׁ֤וֹן יָם־הַמֶּ֨לַח֙ צָפ֔וֹנָה אֶל־קְצֵ֥ה הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן נֶ֑גְבָּה זֶ֖ה גְּב֥וּל נֶֽגֶב׃The border continued to the northern slope of Beth-hoglah and came out at the northern bay of the Salt Sea, at the mouth of the Jordan. This was the southern border. 20En die Jordaan begrens dit aan die oostekant. These were the borders around the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Benjamin. 21En die stede van die stam van die seuns van Benjamin volgens hulle families was: Jerigo en Bet-Hogla en Emek-Kesis,וְהָי֣וּ הֶֽעָרִ֗ים לְמַטֵּ֛ה בְּנֵ֥י בִנְיָמִ֖ן לְמִשְׁפְּחֽוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם יְרִיח֥וֹ וּבֵית־חָגְלָ֖ה וְעֵ֥מֶק קְצִֽיץ׃These were the cities of the clans of the tribe of Benjamin: Jericho, Beth-hoglah, Emek-keziz, 22en Bet-Araba en Semaraim en Bet-El,וּבֵ֧ית הָֽעֲרָבָ֛ה וּצְמָרַ֖יִם וּבֵֽית־אֵֽל׃Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel, 23en Awwim en Para en Ofra,וְהָעַוִּ֥ים וְהַפָּרָ֖ה וְעָפְרָֽה׃Avvim, Parah, Ophrah, 24en Kefar en die Ofni en Geba: twaalf stede met hulle dorpe.וּכְפַ֧ר וְהָֽעָפְנִ֖י וָגָ֑בַע עָרִ֥ים שְׁתֵּים־עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃Chephar-ammoni, Ophni, and Geba—twelve cities, along with their villages. 25Gibeon en Rama en Beërot,גִּבְע֥וֹן וְהָֽרָמָ֖ה וּבְאֵרֽוֹת׃Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth, 26en Mispe en Kefira en Mosa,וְהַמִּצְפֶּ֥ה וְהַכְּפִירָ֖ה וְהַמֹּצָֽה׃Mizpeh, Chephirah, Mozah, 27en Rekem en Jirpeël en Tarala,וְרֶ֥קֶם וְיִרְפְּאֵ֖ל וְתַרְאֲלָֽה׃Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah, 28en Sela, die Elef en die Jebusiet, dit is Jerusalem, Gibeat en Kirjat: veertien stede met hulle dorpe. Dit is die erfdeel van die seuns van Benjamin volgens hulle families.וְצֵלַ֡ע הָאֶ֜לֶף וְהַיְבוּסִ֨י הִ֤יא יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֨ם֙ גִּבְעַ֣ת קִרְיַ֔ת עָרִ֥ים אַרְבַּֽע־עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה וְחַצְרֵיהֶ֑ן זֹ֛את נַֽחֲלַ֥ת בְּנֵֽי־בִנְיָמִ֖ן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃ פZelah, Haeleph, Jebus (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah, and Kiriath-jearim —fourteen cities, along with their villages. This was the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Benjamin.
