וַיְהִ֣י הַגּוֹרָ֗ל לְמַטֵּ֛ה בְּנֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֑ם אֶל־גְּב֨וּל אֱד֧וֹם מִדְבַּר־צִ֛ן נֶ֖גְבָּה מִקְצֵ֥ה תֵימָֽן׃Now the allotment for the clans of the tribe of Judah extended to the border of Edom, to the Wilderness of Zin at the extreme southern boundary: 2En hulle suidgrens was van die einde van die Soutsee af, van die inham wat suidwaarts draai.

It continued along the waters of En-shemesh and came out at En-rogel. 8Dan styg die grens op by die dal van die seun van Hinnom, by die suidelike skouer van die Jebusiet (dit is Jerusalem). These are the boundaries around the clans of the descendants of Judah.

13En aan Kaleb, die seun van Jefunne, het hy 'n deel gegee onder die seuns van Juda, volgens die bevel van die HERE aan Josua: Kirjat-Arba, die vader van Anak, dit is Hebron.

וּלְכָלֵ֣ב בֶּן־יְפֻנֶּ֗ה נָ֤תַן חֵ֨לֶק֙ בְּת֣וֹךְ בְּנֵֽי־יְהוּדָ֔ה אֶל־פִּ֥י יְהוָ֖ה לִֽיהוֹשֻׁ֑עַ אֶת־קִרְיַ֥ת אַרְבַּ֛ע אֲבִ֥י הָעֲנָ֖ק הִ֥יא חֶבְרֽוֹן׃According to the LORD’s command to him, Joshua gave Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion among the sons of Judah—Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron. (Arba was the forefather of Anak.) 14En Kaleb het van daar af die drie seuns van Anak verdryf: Sesai, Ahiman en Talmai, die kinders van Anak.וַיֹּ֤רֶשׁ מִשָּׁם֙ כָּלֵ֔ב אֶת־שְׁלוֹשָׁ֖ה בְּנֵ֣י הָעֲנָ֑ק אֶת־שֵׁשַׁ֤י וְאֶת־אֲחִימַן֙ וְאֶת־תַּלְמַ֔י יְלִידֵ֖י הָעֲנָֽק׃And Caleb drove out from there the three sons of Anak—the descendants of Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak. 15En hy het van daar opgetrek teen die inwoners van Debir; en die naam van Debir was voorheen Kirjat-Sefer.וַיַּ֣עַל מִשָּׁ֔ם אֶל־יֹשְׁבֵ֖י דְּבִ֑ר וְשֵׁם־דְּבִ֥ר לְפָנִ֖ים קִרְיַת־סֵֽפֶר׃From there he marched against the inhabitants of Debir (formerly known as Kiriath-sepher). 16En Kaleb het gesê: “Hy wat Kirjat-Sefer slaan en dit inneem, aan hom sal ek my dogter Aksa as vrou gee.”וַיֹּ֣אמֶר כָּלֵ֔ב אֲשֶׁר־יַכֶּ֥ה אֶת־קִרְיַת־סֵ֖פֶר וּלְכָדָ֑הּ וְנָתַ֥תִּי ל֛וֹ אֶת־עַכְסָ֥ה בִתִּ֖י לְאִשָּֽׁה׃And Caleb said, “To the man who strikes down Kiriath-sepher and captures it, I will give my daughter Acsah in marriage.” 17En Otniël, seun van Kenas, die broer van Kaleb, het dit ingeneem; en hy het aan hom sy dogter Aksa as vrou gegee.וַֽיִּלְכְּדָ֛הּ עָתְנִיאֵ֥ל בֶּן־קְנַ֖ז אֲחִ֣י כָלֵ֑ב וַיִּתֶּן־ל֛וֹ אֶת־עַכְסָ֥ה בִתּ֖וֹ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃So Othniel son of Caleb’s brother Kenaz captured the city, and Caleb gave his daughter Acsah to him in marriage. 18En toe sy aankom, het sy hom aangespoor om van haar vader 'n stuk grond te vra; en sy het van die donkie afgeklim, en Kaleb het vir haar gesê: “Wat wil jy hê?”

When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, “What do you desire?” 19En sy het gesê: “Gee my 'n seën, want u het my die land van die Suide gegee; gee my ook waterbronne.” En hy het haar die boonste bronne en die onderste bronne gegee.וַתֹּ֜אמֶר תְּנָה־לִּ֣י בְרָכָ֗ה כִּ֣י אֶ֤רֶץ הַנֶּ֨גֶב֙ נְתַתָּ֔נִי וְנָתַתָּ֥ה לִ֖י גֻּלֹּ֣ת מָ֑יִם וַיִּתֶּן־לָ֗הּ אֵ֚ת גֻּלֹּ֣ת עִלִּיּ֔וֹת וְאֵ֖ת גֻּלֹּ֥ת תַּחְתִּיּֽוֹת׃ פ“Give me a blessing,” she answered. “Since you have given me land in the Negev, give me springs of water as well.” So Caleb gave her both the upper and lower springs.

20Dit is die erfdeel van die stam van die seuns van Juda volgens hulle geslagte.זֹ֗את נַחֲלַ֛ת מַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵי־יְהוּדָ֖ה לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃This is the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Judah.

21En die stede aan die uiteinde van die stam van die seuns van Juda, na die grens van Edom toe in die Suide, was: Kabseël en Eder en Jagur,וַיִּֽהְי֣וּ הֶעָרִ֗ים מִקְצֵה֙ לְמַטֵּ֣ה בְנֵֽי־יְהוּדָ֔ה אֶל־גְּב֥וּל אֱד֖וֹם בַּנֶּ֑גְבָּה קַבְצְאֵ֥ל וְעֵ֖דֶר וְיָגֽוּר׃These were the southernmost cities of the tribe of Judah in the Negev toward the border of Edom: Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur, 22en Kina en Dimona en Adada,וְקִינָ֥ה וְדִֽימוֹנָ֖ה וְעַדְעָדָֽה׃Kinah, Dimonah, Adadah, 23en Kedes en Hasor en Jitnan,וְקֶ֥דֶשׁ וְחָצ֖וֹר וְיִתְנָֽן׃Kedesh, Hazor, Ithnan, 24Sif en Telem en Bealot,זִ֥יף וָטֶ֖לֶם וּבְעָלֽוֹת׃Ziph, Telem, Bealoth, 25en Hasor-Hadatta en Keriot-Hesron, dit is Hasor,וְחָצ֤וֹר׀ חֲדַתָּה֙ וּקְרִיּ֔וֹת חֶצְר֖וֹן הִ֥יא חָצֽוֹר׃Hazor-hadattah, Kerioth-hezron (that is, Hazor), 26Amam en Sema en Molada,אֲמָ֥ם וּשְׁמַ֖ע וּמוֹלָדָֽה׃Amam, Shema, Moladah, 27en Hasar-Gadda en Hesmon en Bet-Pelet,וַחֲצַ֥ר גַּדָּ֛ה וְחֶשְׁמ֖וֹן וּבֵ֥ית פָּֽלֶט׃Hazar-gaddah, Heshmon, Beth-pelet, 28en Hasar-Sual en Berseba en Bisotja,וַחֲצַ֥ר שׁוּעָ֛ל וּבְאֵ֥ר שֶׁ֖בַע וּבִזְיוֹתְיָֽה׃Hazar-shual, Beersheba, Biziothiah, 29Baäla en Ijim en Esem,בַּעֲלָ֥ה וְעִיִּ֖ים וָעָֽצֶם׃Baalah, Iim, Ezem, 30en Eltolad en Kesil en Horma,וְאֶלְתּוֹלַ֥ד וּכְסִ֖יל וְחָרְמָֽה׃Eltolad, Chesil, Hormah, 31en Siklag en Madmanna en Sansanna,וְצִֽקְלַ֥ג וּמַדְמַנָּ֖ה וְסַנְסַנָּֽה׃Ziklag, Madmannah, Sansannah, 32en Lebaot en Silhim en Ajin en Rimmon: altesaam 29 stede met hulle dorpe.וּלְבָא֥וֹת וְשִׁלְחִ֖ים וְעַ֣יִן וְרִמּ֑וֹן כָּל־עָרִ֛ים עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וָתֵ֖שַׁע וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃ סLebaoth, Shilhim, Ain, and Rimmon—twenty-nine cities in all, along with their villages.

So to this day the Jebusites live there among the descendants of Judah.
